beautiful mess

Some A lot people always make their life seem to be their perfect fairy tale.

Posting pictures on instagram, facebook, tweets, blogs about how great their life it, I mean who wants to read the sad, depressing, life complaining status. And lets be honest everyone does it, even me.

But it's okay to realize that your life is a mess sometimes but the mess of a situation turns into a beautiful story later. Learning from mistakes, making you a stronger person or growing closer to God and your loved ones.

Everyone always says how perfect of a baby Mason is, and how he is smiling(don't get me wrong, I LOVE his contentment!) but he does cry too! Who likes to get a picture of it? Well I finally decided to get one from a video sent to me on Friday when he wasn't feeling good.

Somehow the sounds of his sweet cry made my heart break but also made me smile, yes I said it, SMILE, by him crying it helps his lungs it also helps tell us something is wrong, and when he is crying ALL day something is definitely wrong. Took him in and he is on his 2nd ear infection.

Also, this is another huge step for me but I have been saying I wanted to lose weight, we bought YMCA passes awhile ago, and nothing has motivated me. Well tonight my friend Megan wanted me to go with, I had 4 hours of sleep and huge headache, I did NOT want to go. However she got me to go and I felt great. When I got home I stepped on the scale and this is what I saw....

I have gained 20 pounds since I had Mason, well after seeing this it made me mad. But it also made me realize that I need to push myself if I want to be happy again about my body size.

Sometimes life isn't perfect, it doesn't go the way you want, and you definitely don't get dealt the best hand of cards everyday, but it's what you make of it that matters.

a little bit of vintage

Day dreaming again but let's be honest though, who doesn't day dream, What should the theme of our kitchen be? is the topic that is on my mind today.

After talking to Nola(Matt's sister-in-law) and telling her I wanted a vintage feeling in one room she gave me the idea of the blue mason jar and going off of that. I LOVED it instantly!

This was 3 days before our family Christmas with the Speiser side.

We got to Christmas and I opened our gift from Nic and Nola and it was blue mason jars!!! Then we continue opening and both Nola and I got these awesome candles!

I decided to go to Pinterest to find some ideas on what to do, needless to say I found LOTS of ideas!

I am so excited for the rest of my ideas to become creations!

Are you really content?

As I find myself sitting here on the computer browsing, stressing about what I am going to do in a month or so, as my job at Schwan's is temporary. I keep searching pinterest for ideas and saying I need this and I want this but they aren't true needs. I just need to be content with what we have and realize how blessed I am. How some people don't have a tv/computer/phone let alone a house/husband/baby/car/heat. I might complain that I don't have many clothes that fit me anymore, but I do have clothes that will get me buy. I may not be content with the house we live in right now, but some people are living on the streets or going house to house.

I need to realize GOD HAS THIS. God is in control of the situation and I need to let him be in control and not worry.

It's hard though as we have finally found our house that we like but our house isn't sold yet, and I don't have a full time permanent job really destroys me and has me worrying. I just need to know that God has a plan, he is bigger than any problems I face and he will help us through it.

We are fully starting a budget this week and that will help but it's hard I need self control. But we like to eat out some a lot I also like to buy things I think we need for the house and so hopefully this budget will help a lot!

I attempted to run a 5K I did about 1/2 mile straight(pretty good for not running for so long) and walked the other 1/2 so I ended up doing the 1 mile walk. This is also the longest I have ever left Mason, we left Friday night to go to the cities and came back Sunday afternoon. Daddy did a GREAT job taking care of Mr. Mason!!

Disney Ladies

When I was in the cities for the 5K I found this adorable little costume for Mason! Halloween we went to Studio B, and then we ate at the Hitching Post and came home!

My lil caterpillar

JD was a classmate of mine. The last time I saw him was in July at a wedding and I left upset at him. On October 14th he was taken from us by the Sioux Falls police. He was having a hard time and needed help. When police arrived they thought he was a threat to everyone since he had a gun, little did they know he would never harm anyone. He now leaves behind a beautiful little girl that will be 1 in a few weeks, and many friends and family that love him dearly. We had a benefit for him this weekend(11/2/13) and it was amazing the support that was there for his daughter, and family.

Middle of October

I know, I know every post I am just amazed at how time is flying by, but seriously. It's the middle of October, this is my first post in a month! We have been so busy life just doesn't slow down!! In the past month we have had our cousin Laura visit from PA, went to the Renaissance festival, I am doing a bible study with some ladies, went to the Swenning Benefit, had Mason's THREE month pictures take, gone to the cities for a wedding, went to Gracie's dedication, went to the apple orchard, SMSU Homecoming football game, done some house searching/talked to contractors, I started a new hobby(sewing!) and the biggest thing, PUT OUR HOUSE ON THE MARKET!!

...BUSY month it has been!...

oh and did you miss the part where I said that we had Mason's THREE, yes the number 3, months pictures taken!!!? Where oh where is time going!? Where is the PAUSE button? Someone find it, or at least the slow motion!!

..and our life isn't slowing down anytime soon! In the next few weeks we have the Stager Christmas, Blough's are coming from PA for Mason's dedication, I'm running(going to try!) a 5K, and still of course house searching!

Here are a few pics of everything we have done in the last few weeks.

Nine, Ten - A Big, Fat Hen

--9 Weeks--

Thursday(8/29) We went to see our pediatrician since Mason hasn't been getting better. He said that we are feeding Mason to much it is running straight through him. So we cut back on feedings to 3oz again and he is doing so much better! Matt got to go to the vikings last pre-season game and sit 7 rows up!!

Friday(8/30) just hanging out in my bassinet!

Saturday(8/31) Roesler's babysat Mason while we looked a few house, yes the secret is out, we are looking to buy a house. It may be in a few weeks, or a few months. There are many factors to if & when we buy one! We need to sell our house - I need to have a full time permanent job - and find a house that we LOVE.

Sunday(9/1) We woke up early to head to Life Light concert in Sioux Falls with the Gniffke Family! It was a beautiful - hot day, Matt & I even got burned! We did a little shopping and returned to Life Light at night to hear the Newsboys(AMAZING!!)

Monday(9/2) We went to Great Plains Zoo - it was my first time there since I was a kid and it was Matt & Mason's first time there! We had a beautiful drive home with an amazing sunset reminding us of how awesome God is!

--10 Weeks--

Saturday(9/7) was the first time we have left Mason for a long period of time including over night, while we went to the Hansen/Harwood Wedding! Auntie Heather took good care of Mr. Mason!

Sunday(9/8) Ready to watch some more Viking football :)
